INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE ON THE FIRST WORLD COSTUME FESTIVAL 2013
In cooperation with Sinag Arts Foundation, OISTAT-CWG, the PQ’11 Philippine Working Committee and the ITI-UNESCO Dream Center Philippines will showcase the first International Costume Festival, from April 26 - May 2 2013 in the City of Vigan, Philippines.
The World Costume Festival 2013 showcases international designs for costumes in festivals, events, live theatre and live television broadcast. It is envisioned that the event will be going activity annually and will be slated in the different regions and cities in our country.
The World Costume Festival 2013 features realized festival costume design competition, exhibits and street performance parade, weavers’ trade, Cultural and Tourism exhibit, forums and workshop on designing and building costumes to be conducted and facilitated by international and local costume designers. The output of the workshop will be a showcase of the participants’ design in collaboration with the international costume designers. The participants and designers will be using our very own indigenous materials, found objects and available local fabrics through a costume design presentation night (fashion show) and other presentations. The high light of the festival is the meeting of leading Scenographers and Costume Designers from all over the world- an opportunity of sharing and exchanging creativity.
The Executive Committee of the OISTAT will attend and meet the Southeast Asian Scenographers to discuss of the establishing a link to the World of Scenograhy of its traditions and trend technology.
In this way, you will be able to share your expertise among Filipino and International designers, and work together as a team as well as taste and experience the festivities, arts, culture, food and delicacies that we are proud to share with you.
